[Abstract]
Under the bustling facade of urban life, the spontaneous breakage of tempered glass in architectural curtain walls is gradually emerging as a serious threat to public safety. This phenomenon is not caused by a single factor but results from the interplay of multiple elements, including nickel sulfide phase transformation, thermal stress, mechanical stress, and more. These factors intertwine to make the issue extremely complex. A thorough analysis of these factors is key to understanding tempered glass spontaneous breakage and developing effective risk assessment models. This study comprehensively considers factors such as defect type, size, surrounding stress conditions, stress zone location, glass stress magnitude, and ambient temperature to construct a calculation model for the risk coefficient of architectural curtain wall tempered glass spontaneous breakage. By converting the risk coefficient into spontaneous breakage probability, the study achieves quantitative assessment of tempered glass spontaneous breakage risks. This quantitative approach not only provides building owners, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders with more intuitive and accurate risk information, aiding them in making scientific decisions during architectural design, construction, and maintenance; it also offers robust data support for government agencies in formulating relevant safety standards and regulatory policies.
