This paper summarizes the basic principle of low strain detection of pile foundation. When the stress wave propagates in the pile, this method obtains the size and location of the pile defects by analyzing the amplitude, phase and arrival time of the reflected wave, and finally evaluates the integrity of the pile. The waveform of common defects is analyzed in this paper. Combined with engineering cases, the location of pile defects and the application of code principles and formulas are discussed.
